That's because it is blackmail.
Oh really? Pity. I had high hopes for you.-He tosses the Spiralburst Bottle at Orilles. A gate opens between them and the bottle disappears into it. A moment later, a gate opens directly behind Orilles and the bottle comes out, right at the middle of his back.- *As Rift threw the bottle he moved backwards and to one side , falling off his chair. He rolled away as the thing materialised and stood glaring.*

He rolled away as the thing materialised and stood glaring.* -Another bottle appears in Rift's hand as the chair Orilles was sitting in is sucked through the gate in a spiral pattern. The gate snaps shut.- Rarely have I seen a bank keeper move like that. Now then, care to share? I can keep doing this all day.-A gate opens in front of the exit to the room. Should people come in, they are turned around. Same in reverse.-

*He smiled thinly.*
Share what, Councillor? That you launched a vicious and unprovoked attack on me? Attempted to blackmail me into revealing secrets that exist only in your own imagination - something which had I acceded, would have ruined this business, just incidentally? If I cannot keep my client's confidentiality in the face of death, then I am not worth hiring.
No Councillor. I will not be blackmailed. I suggest you leave now. What you believe is immaterial - as is that of Councillor Jingzu, who will be sadly disappointed in the results of the investigation of Serenia.
There is nothing more to say. Leave now.
*His voice is full of contempt for the other's stupidity*

*His voice is full of contempt for the other's stupidity* -Rift raises an eyebrow and then laughs.- Now I know you aren't a simple bank keeper. No bank keeper has such a force of will. Without telling me, you are still informing me, Orilles.
There are much worse fates than death, Orilles. Such as having this entire bank shifted to the Nine Hells. I imagine you don't want that?

Councillor you may be knowledgeable about magic, and the infinite realms of existence - but you know nothing about banking. Or you would know that the word of a banker is his life - more. If he breaks it his reputation is ruined. And to a banker, reputation is everyhing.
I would have offered you enlightenment - but not now.
There are no great secrets for you to klearn Councillor. None at all. Just take yoursel, and your pretty toys, away.

*He sighed and dipped his hands into his pouch. Taking out a scroll he chanted two words and vanished.*

*The people going about their business in the Bazaar were surprised by the sudden lurching, as the ground shook and rumbled.*
*A jagged chasm opened up, criss-crossing the ground through the Bazaar, shaking down buildings and stalls.*
*The chasm ran directly under Masterson's Bank, which began to sink. Then there was a subterranean rumbling, and the bank lurched downward, as if drawn by some greater force, leaving behind a great gaping hole where the bank had been.*
*No=one escaped the building before it disappeared.*

*In the crowd assembled to look at this strange hole where the bank used to be are two men- one, a young half-elf with short blonde hair, dressed in simple leather armour like an adventurer might wear. His brown eyes are blazing with barely concealed fury, his fists are clenched and he's shaking slightly. The other is a tall man with reflective light grey eyes that betray no emotion whatsoever. He puts one of his hands on the other's shoulder, but neither of them speak.*
