Yeah, I know the way, but I'll be busy helping clean things up down here. Go ahead and lead her up. I'll take your place for now, Nelore. Besides, a princess isn't meant to clean things. [Setzer wanders over to the area and picks up a rag, helping where he can.]

Neither is a big-shot casino owner, Setz. She puts down her own rag.Okay, follow me!She leads Alewyn up the stairs to a bedroom with six beds, two of which are taken by women, one Human in her mid-twenties, one half-Elf who is either not yet an adult or just older than minor.Daphne pointing at the Human and Saffron.Daphne, hair curled and dyed blonde, is tossing and turning, mumbling and muttering, red in the face and bathing in sweat. Saffron, natural black hair, has a shrunken face, pale lips, and is lying completely still, shallow breathing, staring up at the ceiling. She seems to have dark spots all over her body.
Downstairs, the elderly woman gives Setzer an unimpressed, slightly bored and skeptical look.Entertaining, is it, helping out the less fortunate?

True, but it's better than a princess. [Setzer scrubs away and turns to the lady when she speaks. He smiles, knowing the woman doesn't always mean the kinds of things she says from experience. The smile is still pretty weak, though.] Entertaining? I don't get too much entertainment out of seeing the state of things here. [He quietly keeps cleaning.]

*she follows the girl.*
Thank you. Hello Daphne and Saffron.
*she's not too pleased with Saffron's apparent age. She goes over to Daphen first, kneeling next to her bed and laying her hands on the woman, starting healing the disease.*

You're welcome!
Nelore sits down on a bed as Daphne slowly, very slowly, starts calming down a bit. She has been burning up though.
The elderly cleaning lady shrugs as she keeps scrubbing.
It's a living, Mr Tellor, a hard one but a good honest living it is. You'd be better off in your golden heaven if you asks me. Nice and comfortable while people gamble away their hard-earned money...

*Alewyn keeps it up until Daphne's cured, and then gets up.*
She'll be alright now, though with that temperature...Could you get her something to drink, Nelore?
*she smiles and goes over to Sapphron.*

I don't agree with it being a good honest living, and I'm pretty sure some of the people here don't either. Especially the kids. They deserve something better than this, all of them.
[Setzer chuckles at the other part.]
Just my way of thanking Lady Luck.

Sure thing!
She jumps up and runs out of the room. Saffron is hard to heal... She is awake and conscious but looks the other way, and almost seems to be actively resisiting treatment.
The cleaning lady shrugs.
Nothing stopping them to go to the slums and go a-begging, you know. People look so down on these girls, but they got an honest living. At least they don't cheat people out of their money, they actually provide a service...
Nelore comes bouldering down the stairs.
Having fun Setz?
She runs into the kitchen and runs out again with a glass of water.
Don't nag the poor man too much, Beth.
Bethsheba shrugs and scrubs on as the girl dashes up the stairs again with the water and walks back into the room.
Here ya go, ma'am.

[Setzer stops cleaning and gives her a level look.]
I'm not cheating anyone out of anything. A person who gambles needs to know the stakes, and they accept it when they walk into that building. I do provide a service, and that is entertainment, which lightens hearts and moods. It gives a person something else to think about, and gives them something they sometimes don't have: hope. Hope to win in the face of incredible odds. What's done here is not honest. It's a man taking advantage of a group of people who have nothing. Not many of the people here chose to be in this profession.
[Setzer puts the rag down and stands up.]
...and I at least use what I get to help people. Instead of keeping them at this level and ruining lives. Plus, there is no service to a kid who doesn't even know who their father is.
I'll see you later, princess. Bye Beth.
[Setzer turns and leaves, deeply offended.]

Saffron groans and shakes her head. Nelore, catching Setzer's last words, quickly puts the glass by the bedside and runs downstairs.
What the Hells did you say to him?
She runs outside, hoping to catch him.
Setz!

Don't bet your frilly lingerie on it.
*Alewyn sits on the bed, keeping up her healing.*
If you want out, fine, I'll help you, but you're not doing it through dying.

[He's quite a ways down the alley, moving at a brisk pace towards the forest. He stops when he hears her, though, and turns.]
