*Ty'ril turns around, his face in a snarl.*
I will not tolerate insubordination. You are under my command. I don't give a damn if you like it, but you will live with it.
*Without waiting for an answer, he turns around and heads back towards the Guild. Not far away is a large porta, where the rest of their patrol is assembled - sans Bing, who fled in the wake of Barath'Daubre's death.*

Yes sir.
*He gives Ty'ril a very non-"yes sir"-ish look and stands with the rest of the assembly.*

Yes sir. *He gives Ty'ril a very non-"yes sir"-ish look and stands with the rest of the assembly.* *Ty'ril growls, but doesn't dress him down. It's enough that he pretends to be obedient.* Allright, listen up. We are headed to the Astral. A Githyanki trawler will be picking us up once we get there. We are going physically, so if you're used to Astral travel, remember you can be killed. No silver cord now. *He gives both Pher'zl and the Asaath a look before moving on.* Through the portal. Now. *the other guild members head through, the Asaath with what looks like a smirk on his serpintine face.*

*He casts a spell or two to protect himself, then gestures for the Asaath to go first.*

*Slythis grins and says in a hissing whisper.*
"I am not your foe."
*He heads on through the portal.*

*He watches the Asaath step through.*
.oO (But you're not my friend.)
*He steps through the portal.*

Bix sat in her study, waiting. In the months since Kes'stresel's death, she had completely re-organized the guild. The Assembly was disbanded entirely. She had no idea why Barath had made them in the first place. They sat around and bickered and accomplished nothing. Now, the guild was far more organized. She sat at the top. Below her were Brac, Uani, and Malsilia, each one running a different aspect of the guild. Brac ran the operations on Eluria’s surface, aided by his ability to assume a Halfling form. Uani ran their newly formed Astral safe house, and ran it quite well. Malsilia…Malsilia had never really recovered from the loss of Kes’stresel. She relied on Bix too much, so Bix had made Malsilia her voice in the Guild in the sewers, an added layer of enigma that strengthened Bix’s holding.
Each of those three commanded three regiments, each one of those run by either a former council member or someone Bix had raised up personally. The regiments were encouraged to compete with each other and to do their own recruiting, so only the three Hands knew what power their regiments held, and they didn’t know how much power the other Hands had. Each regiment was divided companies, each company into patrols. The entire structure put several layers between Bix and the lowest rung, so that it would be hard to link anything directly back to her, even with the aid of magic.
If only that had solved all their problems. However, there were still the whispers. They made everyone but Bix edgy, a bit more violent, a bit less in control. Uani had figured out the answer after everything else seemed to have failed – once a person got too out of control, was affected too much, they were sent to either the Astral safe house or Eluria’s surface, depending on how well they could blend it. She knew this meant she was slowly phasing them out of the sewers, but didn’t care. The whispers were making work difficult. And then there were the disappearances. Twice, Guild members had simply vanished from plain sight, never to be heard of again. Everyone who had witnessed it had immediately been shifted out of the sewers, so they were not common knowledge, but rumors spread, and it was known that something had happened. She didn’t think they could contain it a third time.
Her thoughts were interrupted by Brac’s soft entrance. He bowed his shaggy head to her slightly, a roll of papers under his arms. Bix motioned him over, and he laid the papers on the table and says, “We have the building we need. Nice, big, and squat warehouse in Grayfriars, three levels of basements, thick walls.” Bix takes the papers and unrolls them, glancing over them. Everything seemed to be in order – not surprising, of course. She trusted Brac more than virtually anyone in the Guild, and he would get the job done.
“Get started, then. I want to see returns as soon as possible.”<br> She didn’t have to give him the usual warnings of treading lightly around the Nightshades and Watch, about keeping it on the quiet, and about making sure to be careful. He knew all that, and he was always cautious. He padded out, going to head back to the surface to implement their plan, one that would hopefully bring a great deal of money to the Guild.

Pherz'l's cold eyes went slowly over the remains of the Guild. So they moved out. It seemed unlikely they would be needing him much longer. He should be heading back to his own. Surely they thought him dead by now. His frown deepened when he heard the whispers, not too close by, but not far enough for comfort. He stepped into obscurity and smiled only briefly before he disappeared. That Illithid had died so beautifully.
