The small tailor's shop belongs to the Godwin family: father Godwin, mother Godwin, and their eight sons and daughters all help out, taking turns sewing and measuring and keeping the accounts straight. They are a busy Halfling family, and their service is fast, reliable, and cheap and the quality is excellent, at least in relation to the price you pay. Courtiers and kings don't come here, but their work is good enough for just about everyone else.

*Cat enters and looks around a bit at the dummies wearing lavish silks and fine laces, heavy damask cloaks and embroidered tunics. She smiles a bit at the collection of fine cloths and luxurious patterns pinned up at the walls for the customers to pick from. When she has been in there for about five minutes, keeping a close eye on Tirith, who has brought his spatula and has decided the dummies feature well as the orcish army, an elderly Halfling man comes in, ribbons around his neck, pins between his teeth. He takes them out and addresses her in polite terms, taking rather long to actually come to the point. She listens and tries to suppress a giggle*

*Tirith blinks at the fat little man, just a bit taller than he is himself. Especially when the man starts babbling, the boy steps up, inspects the man up and down, and eventually points his spatula at him*
Are you an orc?

*The tailor stops talking, almost too shocked to be insulted. Cat chuckles and pulls the boy back*
Mr Godwin is a Halfling, Tirith... Halflings are not the enemy. I'm sorry Mr Godwin, I've just told him a few exiting stories...
*The Halfling nods, still shocked, and inquires without further ado what the lady would like. Cat tells him the child needs some clothes, and though the man is a bit reserved now, he starts measuring up Tirith, who soon wins his good favour back by remarking on the wonderful smell coming from the backrooms. Mr Godwin is rather proud of his wife and her cooking. Cat in the meantime looks around at the fancy dresses and shakes her head, then takes up the fat book of patterns on the desk and leafs through it to find some good ones for Tirith's clothing. Mr Godwin, when the measuring is done, walks up to her and they briefly discuss the clothes and price, while Tirith wanders through the room and once or twice defies a dummy. Cat and the tailor quickly agree, and he promises the clothes should be finished by tomorrow afternoon, so she takes Tirith by the hand and they leave the shop again after saying goodbye to Mr Godwin*

*They walk in. Mr Godwin himself is standing at the counter, and Tirith proudly shows him his sword. The Halfling smiles, then gets the parcel with clothes from the back. He opens it, shows Cat how the trousers and shirts and cloaks have turned out, then rewraps them. She is very happy with them and pays up immediately. The parcel under her arm, they say goodbye to the tailor and leave again*

*aurane finds the shop and lands in front of its door. she enters, and seeks out assistance. one of the Godwin sons greets her. she explains the situation concerning her cloak, and he nods, taking her aside for measurements. they discuss material, coming to simple gray, somewhat weighty cloth. he informs her that, if she wishes to linger in this vicinity, the cloak can be finished in less than an hour. she thanks him and steps out*

*An Elf woman wearing a long black skirt with splits on either tight and a black sort of bikini with metal cups for the breasts, her hair jet-black and made to look messy today, her face havily make-upped, high black gloves, high black boots with pointed noses and sharp heels, shiny earrings, a long staff in her hand, steps into the tailor's. Mr Godwin blinks, smiles nervously, and takes her order for a masked ball custome- a tight jaguar costume, including tail and cat-like ears.*

(Elwing enters the tailors and sets down her silks.
Master Godwin comes out. Seeing the silk, he fingers it appreciatevely, and the two discuss the design of a gown to be made from the fabric.
After the initial discussions, one of the sons is summoned. Between the three of them they create a sketch of the gown, and then Elwing submits to measurements.
Feeling satisfied with the day's woork she heads for home.)

(Elwing looked at the gown as Master Godwin fussed around her, pinning here, letting out a bit of fabric there, smoothing the line of the hem. Eventually he stood back and surveyed the gown. She smiled at him and surveyed herself in the mirror.)
"I think this will suit me very well Master Godwin."
(After changing back into normal clothes, she collected her purse and paid him 200 jink.
"As agreed, the rest on completion."
"Indeed my Lady. Another week and it shall be done."
(Elwing smiled and left, starting to work her way home.)

Amar shrugs uncomfortably while Master Godwin's taking measurements. Not that it's so easy for him either, having to work considerably above his own height. Andreth tuts.
Stand still and let the man do his work.
I'm trying, mother.
She's tired and sick of fabrics and yards and just wants to sit down.

(Arriving at the tailor's Elwing is surprised to find the Godwins working on an urgent commission. She smiles and agrees to come back on another day.)

Amar smiles a bit apologetically at the Elven-woman. She seemed to take in good spirit though.
Are we done for now? I'm tired and I'd like to go back.
Master Godwin smiles.
'We are done for now. It'll be ready, even on such short notice.'
Thank you master Godwin.
Thanks.
They leave the shop.

(Elwing smiles at the strange woman with the dragon-like features as she comes out of the shop. On impulse she steps over to her.)
"I hope all goes well for you that day.
Fitting the dress is a bind, but the effect on his face when he sees you will be worth it.
May the good Gods bless you."
(She curtsies slightly and turns to leave.)

Amar blinks, then smiles.
Thank you milady. I appreciate your kind words.
May the gods smile on your path.
.o0(He'd better appreciate it.)
