In a side alley from the main market is a small door, painted bright red. The sign over the door simply says "Second Chance, second hand goods purchase&sale," and that is exactly what the store does. Once you step inside, you find yourself in a very small room with two couches against the wall on either hand. On the opposite wall is a low counter and a door. The door is shut.
Behind that door, though customers seldom come there, is a warehouse and workshop area. This hall is enormous, taking up most of the block. It is also stuffed with all manner of objects, from tables and chairs to carriages and vases and teddy bears. In one corner is a small sink, a small bath tub, and a small bed with some personal belongings of the owner, who lives here.
Second Chance is a second-hand store, owned by a single person, a very young Halfling girl. She buys discarded goods, or gets them from the trash, fixes them up and sells them on. Her prices are low, so Elurian citizens without a large budget come here for a new kitchen table, a flower pot, a good-as-new set of almost-matching pots and pans. Whatever you're after, Second Chance is bound to have it, with the exception of such things as weapons and magical or adventuring goods. Alright, she has cheap backpacks and so on. You are not likely to find a deck of many things here, or even a wand of magic missiles. It is an ordinary store.
The Halfling herself is called Kiri Eli. She is fourteen or fifteen years old, 2'4" tall, and lame on her right foot. She has no family in Eluria, and speaks with a slight off-plane accent. When she first came to town, a year or two ago, she had less than nothing. After taking out a rather hefty mortgage from Alexander, she bought the warehouse and started her little store. Though the business is not bad, she only barely manages to break even with the monthly payments. While not associated with the Nightshade, she is on Sieg's Chant list, though some of the bad months she cannot afford to afford his prices.
