/'Friends of the Queen', that young man with Elanor had mentioned that. She looks it over and walks inside, getting some cursory glances from staff and patrons. She goes to the bar./
I require a room.
/The bartender looks at her and reaches behind him for a key./
Certainly, milady. Room's up the stairs. Pay in the morning.
Certainly.
/He hands her the key and she walks off./

/She sits in a booth near the back, ordering a meal when the waitress appears, and sort of watches the crowd./

Various glances in Alferizar's direction soon make it clear that paying too much attention to others is not appreciated here.
The bard hired to cover for Armagor isn't too bad, though he lacks stage-experience. There's some mutterings, most often female, about Armagor not being here, but the majority of the crowd doesn't really care, as long as there's entertainment.
The waitress soon comes back with Alferizar's meal, asking for her roomnumber, so the meal can be added to the bill.

/She gets the hint and returns her attention to her own situation. She smiles at the waitress, giving the number, and eats, listening half-heartedly to the bard, and thinking. She hadn't talked to Armo about the baby or anything else related to that since that first talk at his father's house. Aldena had mentioned marriage, and yes, she wants to marry Armo, but she couldn't very well bring it up now, could she?She sighs and continues eating./

The bard, a young man in his late twenties, at the public's request starts a ballad about Tristan and Isolde. It seems out of place in the Friends, but most people listen anyway.

(Armagor has been passing the days quietly, until late his afternoon. A discomfort had localised and to his horror he realised that he had fallen ill.
He spent some time worrying how to get treatment discreetly. Eventually he left the Friends to stroll arpond the sector, looking at the sights.)

(Armagor is finishing a well known ballad extolling the attractions of a beautiful woman, as Lucius walks in.)
(Lucius chuckles inwardly as he listens to the last stanza. Was it a coincidence that the woman's hair was Alferizar's colour?
He grasped the Rod of Silence he carries, and casts a spell, causing the lute in Armagor's hands to grow hot to the touch, just briefly.)
(Armagor looks up and around the audience, gauging their temper, and spots Lucius as he does so. He begins another song, this one a more sorrowful ballad of tragic young love.)
(Lucius buys a drink and consumes it as quickly as decorum allowed before leaving and ambling towards the park, secure in knowing that Armagor had seen him.)

(The ballad is a long one. Armagor sings it through, stands and leaves, bowing to the applause.
He vanishes upstairs to change, then nips out the back way. Lucius would be somewhere nearby, in an open space.)

Two young Elves step in and look around. The girl mercilessly prods the young man in the ribs until he gives in and walks up to the innkeep/bartender.*
Hello there! Can my sister and I get a room in this fine establishment?
He has a pleasant voice and an easy-going manner about him now that he wants something.

The bartender, being about 6', looks down at the Elf.
'We do have a room, if you don't mind sharing. There's a big festival coming up.'
He continues wiping down the bar while waiting for the Elf's answer.

He smiles.
Not at all, though I hope it has two singles? How much would that be a night?

'It has. Let me see...'
He puts the cloth away while thinking.
'2 goldpieces per person per day. That includes meals.'
He grins.
'If you are as musical as the rest of your lot, then the price is renegotiable. This place's always hungry for a good bard.'
