Standing at a major intersection in the district of makers, Goosey and Bawkes are crafters of fine musical instruments.
Both the original partners are long since dead, but their successors maintain both the name and the tradition of excellence.
Aspiring bards come here to buy the products of the apprentices, every one of which has been inspected and certified by the masters as fit before being placed on sale.
The finest bards might be able to persuade the masters themselves to craft their instruments to order.

(Armagor made his way into the shop. He was greeted by a fresh-faced man in his early twenties.)
"Good afternoon. Welcome to Goosey and Bawkes. How may we help you?"
"My name is Armagor Brightshield. I am looking for a lap-harp for a lady. It must be of superior quality, and light enough to be easily handled."
"I see sir. Well, I will go and find out what we have."
(He goes off and comes back with a selection of three. Armagor inspects them, immediately dismissing one, and plays short selections on the other two before shaking his head.)
"I am sorry but I fear nothing meets my requirements."
"Will you wait a while sir? Iwill speak with Mr. Bawkes."
(He disappears into the back again, taking the instruments.)

(An old man emerges from the back. He sits, gestures to another chair, and calls for tea.)
"Lord Brightshield. An honour. I am Jerram Bawkes.
This harp. Tell me your requirements."
(Armagor outlines the speciication, and the two fall into a long and detailed discussion, sketching possible designs. Finally a design is agreed on, and a price. he two rise, shake hands on the bargain, and Armagor departs.)

Mellinore accosts Armagor as he emerges. The two walk together through the streets.
Mellinore explains that he needs Armagor to be at the Evensong at around nightfall in order to discuss an urgent family matter. Armagor seems reluctant, but agrees when Mellinore stresses the importance to the family.
Armagor walks off in the direction of Elysium, while Mellinore returns to his house via the streets.)

(Armagor enters the shop.) "Good day. I would see Master Bawkes."
(Jerram bawkes enters slowly, carrying a wrapped bundle.) "Milord. It is ready.
(He unwraps the bundle to reveal a lady's lapharp delicately carved, and runs his thumbs along the strings. The harp responds with clear tones.)
(Armagor sets himself and plucks a simple tune. Eventually he nods his satisfaction and stands. Producing a pouch he lays it on the table.)
"That should suffice."
(Master Bawkes bows, and assistants bring out the harp's case and tuning instruments. The harp is swiftly wrapped, and Armagor slings it on his back.)
"Farewell then Master Bawkes. Next time I have need of an instrument I will come here."
(He bows and leaves the shop.)
