*Ka reappears in the middle of her sigil, shattering the pulsating mark in a myriad of glowing energy pieces and seeks out a messenger again. Having rethought about their encounters, she pursues a new method of attack. Purring sweetly at the man she beckons him over.
Could you find Lunaria and tell him Angeliqué is here?

*The guard looks over at her and glances at one of the messangers. The man runs off.*
"It'll only take a few minutes, if he knows you."
*Not too long afterwards, the messanger returns.*
"Lady Angeliqué? Councillor Lunaria will see you in his library. You'll find it near the park."

Just under the clouds that hang over the city this day is a ledge. A very narrow ledge, but she sits there nevertheless, her long green braid waving in the fast winds that circle around the Spire. The little fluffy silver ball sits in her hands, out of the wind and the cold. The wall behind her may be a window, but anyone looking out wouldn't see her anyway, she made sure of that. Her one foot rests on the ledge, the knee up and bent, the other foot dangles over the depths where far, far below the lights of the city shine weakly.
The black skirt of her dress waves in the wind like a small flag, hits against her leg, waves again, hits her leg, waves. She leans her head back to the wall, and stares absently out over the city and he woods beyond. Even her eyes, even this high up, can see nothing but woods, woods strechting to the far horizon. Not a road, or a castle, no mountains or seas, just woods as far as she can see. She strokes the silver ball of feathers softly, and it nibbles on her finger. Her glowing green-grey eyes stare out over the woods and into another world, a different time.
A time when they were all together...
They stood against a frightening world, and they knew it. But they could handle it. They would. They were part of the light that would beat back the armies of dark, they would personally beat Sekolah into submission. They'd vanguish Maanzicorian. They'd chain Lolth, tear Orcus to pieces, topple Graz'zt's throne, bring the very Lord of the Nine to his knees. They knew nothing.
She looks down at her little fluffy companion, the only one of her friends that stuck by her. One day he will be a great owl. But that has been the case for thousands of years. He likes it better as a fluffy little owl-chick, she suspects. He prefers to sit on her shoulder to her sitting on his. She doesn't mind too much. He's here. Where are the others?
Ayadinlani was a Lillend. The oldest of their gang, she shared Fairy's love for music and the wild. Fairy... It's long ago anyone called her that. Ayadinlani died for her wilderness, the last to stand against an army, the last to fall to it. Fairy had been elsewhere. She had been so beautiful, her music a wonder and a delight. She died. Uriel and Azrael, twin brothers and Astral Devas, the fighters. They fell in a great battle when they were cut off from the main force and a band of Yugoloths surrounded them. They were great fighters, but they never had a chance. They were the most loyal people Fairy ever met, and most of all loyal to each other. At least they died side by side... At least they had that. Then the little flame, Fiametta, the youngest and weakest of the band, a Half-Celestial. She was the brains of the group, Fiametta, or at least the smart alec. What happened to Fiametta? She was going to prove her mortal side didn't make her any less of a Celestial. She was going to prove herself, but what happened to her? Nobody can be sure, nobody knew, but there were rumours that she had been brought to Carceri. Carceri! That poor little girl. The Devils caught Seraphim, of course. Phaere sighs and closes her eyes. It had been his own rash actions, of course. What else could it be? He was the most courageous, most self-righteous of them all, he was so convinced that the light would prevail. He wasn't the most powerful of them all, but he was the most fiery. He was the first to die, the first friend she ever lost. The most powerful had been a young Tulani. She remembers being proud, in some strange way, that the greatest of their gang was an Eladrin. Maybe he wasn't, maybe she just saw things that way at the time. She loved him, but he never knew. He fell in love with a mortal woman, who betrayed him, not long after Seraphim's death. He'd been a very good friend of Seraphim's, and his death had shaken him terribly, he had spoken of going to look for him when this woman... betrayed him to some Demon, who killed him by treachery. Or maybe he killed himself. Fairy never found out, but it was easy to blame the Demons.
There had been more. More faces that she can still see, laughter of so many years ago that she can still hear. Others that she called friend, that shared her hopes and dreams for a while until they vanished, either into another path of fate or to rest in their Plane forever. It became difficult to befriend, difficult to fall in love, knowing it will not last. Nothing lasts. This Spire that stands here for so short a time will stand here for a short time yet and then it will fall and crumble, the city will fall, the woods will one day be no more. There will be other worlds, some of which have not even been born yet, that will take this one's place. One day, nobody will remember this land, the people living and dying in that city beneath her dangling foot. One day, no Celestial will remember Ayadinlani or Seraphim, Fiametta or the Tulani man whose name she dares not breathe.
One day, they won't remember Fairy.

Above the Spire a cloud breaks open and Karla dives through, stretching her wings and gliding, reveling in the sheer pleasure of flight. Her metal limbs and wings glint in the sunlight. Each beat of her wings sends out a deep, throbbing blast of air, following by a light metallic ring, not unlike a sword being unsheathed. She flies low and then sweeps back up with a snap of her wings, finally climbing the air to a ledge and landing on it, unknowingly little more than five feet from Phaere. She takes out a cigarette and lights it, then stares over the city and the forests beyond, seemingly deep in thought.

She watches the woman's flight absently, and glances at her when she lands so close by. A mortal, or is she? The wind of this altitude pulls on the cigarette and disperses the smoke quickly. Good. She doesn't like smoke. Interesting wings. She swings her foot lazily as she becomes visible, her green braid still waving on the wind. She keeps silent, but the owl-ball's golden eyes watch Karla curiously.
Hoot?

Hair hair is pulled over her face, and she brushes it away, revealing her metal eyes. "Ah didn't see you there." Her eyes narrow for a moment. "Ah ususally don't miss that sorta thing - were y'all visible before?"

Phaere looks back and shakes her head once. The fluffball nibbles her fingers as it watches to see what the lady will do next. Neither of them makes a sound. > Hoot! < > I know she does. But you talk funny too, remember?< > Hoot. < > Oh shut up.<

*Once she realizes Phaere isn't going to attack her, at least not yet, she relaxes again. Cute owl. She takes another drag from the cigarette.*
Ah love the view up here.

Phaere Gales. The fluffy ball hoots happily and in its enthusiasm it wants to move over to Karla, but as soon as it hops out of the woman's hand it is caught in the wind and blown off the ledge. It hoots in fright, but Phaere's hand shoots out and catches it. She shakes her head and sets it down somewhere out of danger. Or maybe he isn't.Hoot? [Celestial] Don't give me that.
