A huge, stately building near the gate out of the city centre bears a proud bronze plateNIGHTSHADE CORPORATIONThe building is dark overall, with impressive ebony double doors. It's got big windows in the front, with heavy blue curtains. When you step inside, you find yourself in a long hallway with high white celings and huge slabs of white marble on the floor. The many doors in the hall all have bronze plates on them, indicating they are offices. There is a richly ornamented ebony bench against one of the walls, for guests to wait on. Halfway across the hall there is a broad black wooden staircase going up, and if you walk all the way on, you'll find yourself on a small inner courtyard with a few big pots with trees, a mosaic on the ground. Overall, the place seems very stately, rather impressive, and thoroughly respectable. Think 17th century canal house, if that means anything to you.
In reality, the Nightshade Corporation is the local thieves' guild. They own quite some property in the town, but all seemingly legitimate. They have a code d'honeur- they don't do assassinations, and they don't do slavery. They do expect every single rogue operating in the city to answer to them, and harsh retaliations follow when people try to fly solo. The Corporation have been playing a game of cat and mouse with the city guards and lawyers for many years, and it doesn't look like it's about to be decided in either party's favour any time soon. It is whispered one of the council members has connections with the thieves, but those are probably just idle rumors.
As for the building, the ground floor and upper floors hold offices and some private rooms belonging to the higher ranked members of the Corporation. The real life takes place downstairs, in an underground facility well hidden from prying eyes and guards' boots. There are training rooms, dorms for the lower members, a small store, a conference room, stock rooms and several escape routes there.

*Cat enters the building and is greeted by a man in casual but still rather fancy clothes. They have a short conversation, after which he ushers her into an office. About half an hour later, she leaves again*

*In the highest room of the building, a tall man leans on the window sill, looking out over the streets. His light grey eyes reflect the people wandering along without giving any indication of his thoughts. After a while, he turns back to the room, which is a well-decorated, practical office. The secret door to the extension of this office, where some of his more important documents are kept, is open. He looks down at the files on his desk, sits down, and resumes copying the information from the notes his people sent him into the files. There are several brown files on the desk, with names of people, organisations, places and schemes on them. After a while, he brings most of them back to the cabinet and closes the door. He sits back at his desk, looking down at the two files he kept there- one marked "Orilles Masterson", the other, "Jingzu Lunaria". He frowns. He knows both and does not particularly mind either of these gentlemen, but their arrival in town usually brings more than a good conversation... He sighs and hopes they will spare him the trouble of having to send them a message to let them know he wants to see them. He clears away these last two files, then decides it's a beautiful day. Within the blink of an eye, he disappears*

*He appears in the office and takes a seat, waiting for Rumerin*

*He enters a bit later, closes the door behind him and sits down behind the desk, looking at Jingzu with his non-revealing eyes. He simply picks up the subject where they'd left off*
I need to know a bit more than that.

*Leans back in his chair*
Aye... Well the way I see it, Jingzu comes in and brings trouble for me. I would like to know the nature and amount of trouble beforehand this time, if you don't mind.
So... The principal. What is so important about him that you get him a job just like that? And why is my banker interested in him?
A few other things. What are two epic baddies doing on my terrain? What's up with the new church and the demon living in it? Which demon is the daddy of that kid living in the inn? Black Heart?
Minor issue... What happened to turn the Black Heart into- whatever it is that he is now. An angel? News does not travel fast when the only ones who know keep shut about it. So in short Jingzu- what the Hell happened this time?

So in short Jingzu- what the Hell happened this time? *He smiles slightly* Trouble follows those willing to change things. Which reminds me, have you located the rest of that spell? Ah, him. He is skilled in both Divine and Arcane Magic. He fit the position, and I know him. Knowledge is power, Rumerin, and our school is meant to be one of the finest around. The last principle was an idiot. He needed to be replaced anyways. Thankfully, he left of his own accord. That I do not know. I'll have Serenia look into that. I'm quite curious myself. I assume you mean Taur Guruthos as one of those two. He is the cousin of that woman I mentioned earlier. I might add that he is the child of Graz'zt, who died not too long ago. The child in the Inn, Tirith, is the son of a Fallen named Tengfou and Catriona, the woman I keep referring too. Consider him Black Heart's child. The new Church was needed. So, I had it shifted here. Nothing more, nothing less. What happened? Black Heart killed his father and Ascended. He is a Celestial now. By the way, on the topic of Catriona... I'm sure I don't need to tell you what will happen if any harm comes to her? See that none of your friends give her any trouble what so ever. Her requests are my commands.

Not all of it yet, but we're close. It isn't easy. I take it you didn't succeed with this Sky Father then?
I know that.
*Grins*
More or less his own accord anyway, the way I hear it.
Good. Be sure to let me know what she finds out.
*Thinks*
I should probably double my offer. Not that she'd ever take it. Pity.
No, I didn't. There are two epic baddies living in one of my inns in Greyfriars, a man and a woman. They arrived not two days after you did, but haven't been around too often- keep to their room more often than not. Considering they come up as blanks on a detection spell, I'm assuming they're epic. And seeing as my people can't find out a lot about them, I'm thinking they're baddies.
The Dark Man died, did he? Now that is interesting news. Killed by his son? Very interesting.
*A smile passes over his face again*
And he Ascended, aye, I'd figured that. I never knew he was powerful enough to do a thing like that though.
*Thinks a bit, his eyes quietly reflecting Jingzu*
Hm? Oh, I already know about her. Where did you think she got that inn? Don't worry, we don't turn on our own here. She really is a friend I see... Also very interesting. I wonder what would happen should she request that you stop putting together this spell, considering her friendship with the cleric.

Blasted fool kept avoiding me. I hope that army tears the Kingdom apart. Hm. I wasn't aware of that. Do you have a description? Nor did I. I have no idea what the spell he used was. That should say something in and of itself. *He smiles slightly* Yes, I know where she got the Inn from. That is one of the few requests I would deny. Friendship only goes so far. She'll understand the need for it later.

An army?
*He nods and takes a note from his drawer*
The man seems to be an elf, the woman seems human. Here.
*Slides the note over the desk to Jingzu*
They don't bother me too much, but I like to be informed.
It would, yes. If you find out, I would appreciate if you passed on the knowledge.
*He does not comment on the last remark, merely studying Jingzu's face*
Something else though- your paladin friend is about it again. I hate to ask this, but could you get him to back off?

Belonged to some Cardinal.
*He takes the photo and looks at it. He immediatly frowns.*
I don't know who the Elf is, but that woman is a Pureblood. She was Graz'zt's Proxy for a time. Be careful with her. Hm... be careful with the Elf, too. She doesn't like Elves, so he is obviously something else.
*He sets down the photo and nods*
Sure.
*He sighs*
Alcyon? Fool. Hasn't Thiska done anything about it?

I see. Thank you. I shall warn my people.
*He seems to ponder something for a short while, then nods*
I shall try to get them to find out who the man is, if you don't beat me to it. You wouldn't happen to know her real name, would you? I'm most interested in things like that.
No, she hasn't. She's been rather busy lately.
*His hand goes up to the scar on his cheek for a moment*
Besides, I owe her some in that field already.

Thank you.
There. Do you have anything to ask me?
