Forven is and always has been a desolate world, a place where those who live must fight to remain alive. The land is barren. Dead. There is little safe water, as most sources are either poisonous or heavily defended by the fierce predators of the world. Or both, as is the case more than not.
There are several contintents, but most of them are unaware of each other's presence, save for the universal knowledge that the world is ruled by the Dark Star. Those on the main continent know this best, as they are closest to him and his influence.
The capital city and home to Dark Star Velius is Lahdan, a place watched over by the Lord of the Dark and guarded by his right hand, a swordsman known only as Bloodshed. It is a large place, with a very high tower that grasps the massive Black Crystal within a stone claw.
To the south of Lahdan is the trade city, Vilato, known for its large red lakes, often referred to as the Crimson Waters.
To the west is the Dragon Mountains, with the Dragon Gate trade city. Further to the West is the Fae, the only known forest the world posses and home to many a sylvan creature, as well as the Elves. To the Northwest is the City of Sands, Home to the fanatics of Barren, the Lord of sands and the eventual destruction of all, with the Fortress of the Order of the Obsidian Hand lying just beyond that, on the Ebony Island.
To the East is the Lost Lands, filled with tribes and cities swallowed by the desert yet still living somehow. Even further East is the Path to the Underworld, which leads to the Islands of the dead, ruled over by the God of necromancy.
To the South is Sykel, the city watched by the God of the who the city was named after, the Lord of Magic.
There are rumors that the City of the Light, watched over by the God known as Justice, is somewhere to the North, but few have ever found it... or returned to tell the tale. Any information on that particular city is highly sought by Velius, as it is the bastion of light that opposes him on this world. All others have been crushed.
Far to the Southwest is the Hydra Rivers. Unlike the Crimson Waters, the Hydra Rivers are literally made from blood, due to a magical storm that rages in the mountains nearby. Few ever seek to enter this unholy land.
Planar travel on the world is next to none, as few here know the art of it. Those who do often leave as soon as possible. Otherwise, getting to Forven is not very difficult. The only reason the place does not have a deeper connection to the Planes is probably because few care to visit such a world. The populace generally doesn't believe in the existence of other worlds, and Forven is considered a Low Power world, though it has some extremely high power people in and from it.
