"Move along, George, I'll take care of this."
"Uh, ok Martha..."
George stands and brushes himself off before heading towards another patron. Martha stands and smiles at Angel, picking something off of a nearby shelf. She handed her a grayish feather. It would have been nothing special if the feather was not massive.
"They look pretty plain until the Phoenix bursts into flames and prepares for rebirth. We have at least two known Phoenix on this continent, though they keep to themselves.
Yes, there's quite a few here. We are the most mage heavy population in the world. Makes sense, since this is the city of the God of Magic, Sykel."

.oO( O.O )
*Angel blinks and her mind races, what a perfect chance. The God of Magic himself, no doubt a lesser diety...*
Thank you so much for the feather. My master will be most pleased.
*She takes the large and unwieldy feather over towards the counter area and prepares to pay. As she digs in her bag for some gold, she looks around to see if she recognizes any really nice magical components here.*
How much is this? Will it turn red at all now that it isn't attached to a phoenix? How big are those birds anyway?

"You're welcome. That will be 200 gold. These things are not easy to catch.
Yes, if you put them near a fire. You see, the bird itself looks like fire even before its rebirth. Very pretty feathers... but, they become dull and ordinary when pulled away at times, and sometimes the Phoenix itself loses its colors before rebirth. That's what happened to that one."
She carefully wraps the feather in cloth as she speaks.
"They grow from ten to fifteen feet from tail to beak. Their wingspans can get as large as forty feet, however. They're huge and beautiful creatures."

*She pulls out the appropriate amount in platinum and gingerly picks up the wrapped feather. She then turns and steps out of the shop, looking for an alley to duck into. Mentally she notes that the shop should be a gold mine of information if it's cultivated correctly.*
*She then sets out to seek out the temple of Sykel.*

There seem to be many temples strewn about the city, with many symbols. Mostly around the large towers, that are formed into a vast circle around a central tower that has no apparent entrance or exit. It has a smooth mirror-like surface, and is slightly hard to make out at times since it reflects the world around it.
Otherwise, there are thirteen towers connected to each other by a large fortress, surrounding and protecting the central tower.

*Placing the feather in one of her pouches, she grabs the nearest peasant in an iron grip that belies her size and orders him to guide her to the main temple of Sykel.*
Temple of Sykel. NOW!
*If her voice was not enough, the glowering anger in her eyes should make him move, although she does feel guilty for making someone's life miserable, even if for a few minutes.*

The elderly chap blinks and begins to cry like a newborn babe. Through tear broken speech, he just barely works up the energy to point at a building with one hand, very obviously a temple, and at the towers with the other.

Bah... you inhabitants of Forven are useless sheep. Don't you even stand up for yourselves? What a waste of perfectly goood living space. Do yourself a favour and dissapear before I crush you like a cockroach.
*She pushes the man away from herself and sets off towards the temple looking building first. Someone here had to have some spine...and they would probably make a good lunch, she was getting hungry after all.
*Approaching the temple, she examines the building thoroughly before stepping inside and looking for a priest or someone in a position of authority.

The old man hobbles off, terrified of the rather potent force of personality the Elf (dragon) held. Not to mention the unreal strength.
The temple itself seemed to double as a library. Arcane symbols covered virtually every surface, and it was hard to tell what symbol represented the God, Sykel. Even the priests' robes were covered with arcane symbols.
Other than that, the place was not overly decorative.

*She stamps her foot irritably, crossing her arms and looking very frustrated at the priests. She then lets out a perfectly loud and steady stream of curses in draconic, mostly directed at that guy back in Eluria. Sending her to this useless place, the nerve.*
*After a few moments she calms down and decides to study a few of the symbols to see if any are known to her.*

The priests turn their heads as one to the source of the disturbance. The first spell that goes up is Silence, centered on Angel. The others... hard to tell. There were many spells being spun at the same time.
One of the priests presses his finger to his lips. None of them said a word.
The symbols seem different, an odd approach to magic. Some of them seem clumsy, while others seem incredibly potent.

*Bah...petty priests. She allows them cast their spells, although the displeasure shows in her eyes. She copies several of the more potent symbols and a few of the clumsy ones into a notebook, then examines in depth the priests style of spellcasting.*
*She walks towards them, focusing on one in particular. She moves to within 12 inches of him and reaches out to touch him with her hand. She wonders what his reaction will be, although no hostile action has been taken on her part. Carefully she prepares a few spells just in case, running over their words in her head. Maybe that silent spell skill isn't such a waste after all.*

They seemed to rely on gestures more than anything else. It wasn't too different from most worlds... there were just subtle changes here and there in the pattern.
The priest she reaches out to touch looks up from his book and watches her, but does not move out of the way. His facial expression is rather blank.

*She rests her hand lightly on his shoulder, and cocks her head to one side looking at him. Drawing forth a glass of blood she offers him some, then takes a sip herself.

The priest smells the contents of the glass and politely declines with a shake of his head, returning his attention to his book.
