*She smiles again, obviously pleased.*
A fiend with a silver tounge. But come. You are far more than your humble demenor so poorly hides.

*He chuckles*
Indeed not, my lady. I'm just your average businessman- you will find the likes of me all over the Planes. Cowering at your heels, as we should.
*Smiles*
Honoured and charmed as I may be though, my lady, how long would it take for your father to appear? I would gladly spend eternity around such lovely company as yours, but I fear my business is a demanding mistress.

*She smiles at him.*
Indeed. My father should have been here...
*A voice sounds from behind them.*
...Right about now.
*Xealaz enters the room, grinning broadly.*
Forgive the delay. I was casting a spell of some complexity, and had to complete it before I could leave. It is a pleasure to see you again, Rumerin.

*He smiles back, then turns and bows.*
The pleasure is all mine, I'm sure, my Lord. If you don't mind my taking some of your time, there is some business I would discuss with you.

Not at all, not at all. I have plenty of time, now. Vivia, see to our other 'guest'...he has become rather testy, and needs a reminder of his situation.
*Vivia grins savagly, and vanishes with a crack. Xealaz chuckles, before turning looking back at Rumerin.*
What do you have on your mind?

*He bows and smiles at Vivia as she leaves.*
You never cease to surprise. She's even more beautiful than people said.
As for my business my lord, you may know I currently have a little something going on down in the planar city of Eluria. I understand it is your plan to- pay the place one of your visits, so to speak.

*Xealaz smiles after Vivia, obviously the smile of a father very, very proud of his child.*
My pride and joy.
*Xealaz nods, getting down to buisness.*
I do indeed have interests there. I suspect your visit has something to do with your own interests in that city?

*Nods*
I understand completely.
Of course. If you don't mind, I would discuss with you your plans to take the place. The loss of your guild. Oh, and those people you're after.

*Xealaz lets out a low chuckle.*
You were always full of knowledge, Rumerin. What aspects of those would you like to discuss?

*He smiles and his eyes wander the room very briefly for a seat. He would really prefer to sit down. But then again, he wasn't used to Pendrell offering him a seat, so, ah well.*
Let's do first things first. Are you really set upon conquering Eluria? Attractive as that may seem, it is most useful at the moment. Of course, you know I'm asking this because my business would suffer. But I would suggest this- amusing as it might be, Eluria is terribly useful as it is.

*Xealaz raises an eyebrow an, in a rather odd gesture, causes two chairs to rise from the floor, one of which he sits in. Whether it was from knowing what Rumerin wanted, guessing, or just chance, nothing on his face indicates.*
Oh? And how might that be?
*His voice is completely neutral.*

*He sits down.*
For one, Eluria is a giant portal. It brings all the Planes together. A city like that is most useful as a centre for trade of goods and information. However, war and Dementia will scare that away. The portals will be closed and the city will die- and with it everything you came to conquer.

*He drums his fingers on the chairs armrest.*
And leaving it a free city is benifical?

*He nods*
It is. Free, happy cities attract trade, of, as I said, goods and information. Eluria is very much a centre of information, I didn't settle there for nothing. News from all over the Planes find its way there. As do knowledge and talent. There is a lot of money to be made- a lot of power to be found- for those who simply sit and listen. Don't get me wrong, I am no pacifist. You know what I am. But a war between you and the defences of Eluria- and trust me, they have plenty- that will benefit no one. It will cost you more than it would gain you, in money, effort- people...
*At this, he glances at the desk where Vivia sat.*
You didn't become what you are today through hack and slash alone. The ears are more powerful than the sword. I know I'm just a simple businessman, and I would not dream of making demands of you, or even presume to advise you. I'm just asking you, humbly, to consider this before you slay the goose with the golden eggs.

*Xealaz leans back in his chair, looking thoughtful, and odd look for him. He does let out a low chuckle.*
If you are 'just' a simple buisness man, I'm an orc. Your words do make sense.
*If he intends to follow them, he gives no indication. However, he does change subjects - and indication that he is considering Rumerin's words.*
I do, however, have people in that city that interest me far more than the city itself does.
