*Like so many hunks of Astral Debris, the lab is the remains of a dead god. What kind of god is, as always, unknown, but it shape is like that of a giant squid. In the center of its tenticles is a peice of steel, slightly larger than the average door for humans.
The entire inside of this peice of Debris has been hollowed out, all by the hard work of Karla. Inside, it is full of constucts and the materials to make them. This is where Karla's arms were created, and it is where she plys her craft: the creation of constructs. Only one other living creature comes here, the human known as Vince, a human who grafted a construct to his body to give him four long, powerful tenticles that enable him to better work with the materials here. He helps Karla with the manufacture of the constructs, and mantianed the Lab in her absence.

Karla flew to the steel door of the lab, gliding through the Astral Plane with the ease of a native. She presses her hand against an almost undetectable peice of steel that is seperate from the rest, pushing it in. The door responds, sliding back. She floats in, and gravity asserts itself, pulling her gently to the ground as the door, nearly three feet thick and renforced with adamantine, slides shut behind her, clicking back into place. The Lab is eerily quiet, and the sound of her adamantine legs hitting the steel echos through the hallway.
She heads down to the end, and pushes her hand against a similar panel...and is nearly killed as a three pronged tenticles bursts through the crack, headed towards her head. Only reflexes honed through years of battle allowed her to get her wings in the way of the tenticle, though the blow still pickes her up off her feet in the low gravity environment. The owner, vince, looks through, his expression changing from anger to shock.
"Karla! You're back. I didn't think I'd see you alive again."
She manages a weak laugh.
"Y'all almost didn't, Vince."
Vince winces and grins at her sheepishly. Karla softens the jab with a grin of her own.
"Fortunatly, it was only almost. Y'all couldn't kill me on the best day of your life. Ah wouldn't worry none if I were you."
Vince snorts a laugh, grinning.
"I nearly killed you when we first met, Karla."
Karla sighs and rolls her eyes.
"Y'all were half golem then, ah wasn't. Don't flatter yourself."
Vince grins. Dispite the banter, the two don't particularly like each other - their relationship is based much more on skills that work well together and a mutual need for an allie, as well as a hatred of Xealaz. They begin talking, Vince catching Karla up on the progress he's made while she was away. She nods in the right places. When she tells him of Mikaels fate, his face falls. He had held great respect for the Celestial. After a moment of silence for him, the two go off into the bowles of the lab, Vince showing her some of his new creations.

*Karla stands in the middle of a large, featureless room. Sweat drips from her brow, her breathing is heavy, and her metal arms hang by her sides. She shakes herself with a grin and pulls her armps up into a fighting stance.*
Ah'm ready for another one, Vince. Hit me.
*Immediatly, the room bursts into action, metal spheres flying towards Karla. She drops down to dodge one, her foot lashing out to hit another, and one of her wings shields her body from a third. Barely a second after they repel off her, more come in, and a similar fast movement deflects more. It goes on like this for ten miniutes, untill the balls all suddenly race back to the wall, rejoining with it, and Karla collapses to the ground, panting in exaustion.*
That's...it for....today.
*She takes a deep breath.*
Ah gotta get moving, anyway.
*A side fo the walls open, and Vince walks in, using his steel tenticles as legs.*
Not bad, Karla.
*She stands, and shakes her head at him, grinning.*
Not bad? Ah'd like to see you do better, pretty boy.
*He only shakes his head and rolls his eyes in mock exapseration.*
As fun as it's been, I do have work to do.
*She nods, getting down to buisness.*
Ah'm sure you do. Ah gotta get back to Eluria, anyway. Later, Vince.
*They both head off, each taking a different direction in the corridor beyond the room. Karla heads toward the entrance, the door sliding open to reveal the Astral once again. She jumps out and slides away, waiting untill she is out of the Labs defenses against dimensional travel before teleporting back to Eluria.*

*Karla sits in one of the labs many rooms, looking over a crystal of some sort. She had felt a...disturbance, earlier, and like all Pendrells she was attuned to the hum of magic in the multiverse. It normally hummed and throbbed, something she had lived with her entire life so that she didn't notice it - expect when something happens, like this. A great spell of some sort had ripped across the planes, and she had a bad feeling about that.*
"Show meh the source of the distrubance. Show meh what it will do."
*The crystal flared and glowed, before settling onto an image - a mountian, higher than any she had ever seen, piled in corpses. The corpses of humans. She let out an involuntary gasp, putting her hand to her mouth. The spell could mean the extinction of the human race.*
"Ah can't believe it. Not even mah father is that crazy. Who could do it?"
*Though the question was meant to be rhetorical, the crystal flares again, showing her a different image - Jingzu Lunaria, not that she knew that. She had never had the misfortune to meet the elf, and so didn't know who he was or what he was. She growls in frusteration, slamming her metal fist onto the desk, denting it hollowly. Unless she found the right place, at the right time, she was going to be worthless.*
"Show meh the Firre Eladrian Saerid."
*The Cyrstal flares again, showing her Saerid, sitting on the floor of the Inn...was he weeping? Gods, he was, or near enough that made no difference. The Coure that had hung around him looked equally depressed. The ball of fluff that she had seen with Phaere was there too, and looked like it had lost it's best friend. Oh gods, no. She has to swallow before she can force out the next words.*
"Show meh Phaere Gales."
*It flares again, revealing her in the Dark Star. Karla frowns. The place was unfamilar to her, but it did not look like a place Phaere would want to be. Nor did it look like she was safe. Karla sighed and stood up. She could do nothing about the larger problem, not yet at least, but she could help Phaere, or try. She walked to her room, to arm herself before teleporting back to Eluria. *

The image in the crystal flickers as a deep darkness passes over the room.
The darkness soon passes... as tendrils of rotting flesh, shards of bone, and solidified blood spring from the crystal and slam into the surroundings, followed by a storm of blades.
The image is no longer shown in the crystal.
