Dementistbane
This functions as a +5 adamanine rapier when used in normal combat. However, when wielded against someone with ranks in the Dementist prestige class, or against an outsider with the Demental subtype, it gains the following qualities
- It fuctions as a bane weapon against outsiders of the Demental Subtype - Any dementist struck by it looses one random prepared spell. - It becomes lawful for the purpose of overcoming damange reduction - Any time it strikes a Demental or a Dementist, that creature must succed on a Will (DC 20) save or be dazed for 2d4 rounds. - Once per day, it may make a sanity strike. The strike must be declared at the beginning of the round, and a failed strike uses the strike for the day. If it succedes, it deals 6d10 points of damage to a Dementist or Demental it strikes. If it strikes a Dementist, he must succed on a Will (DC 30) save or loose all prepared spells for the day and recieve one negative level. If it hits a Demental, the Demental is banished back to its home plane, or if on its home plane, it must make a Fort Save (DC 30) or be destroyed.
Owner: The Dementistbane is at large, and no one knows where it is. Xealaz/Thantal would pay dearly to find its owner, seeing as he was killed once before by this very blade.
History: The Dementisbane was forged by a god of metal and given to Xealaz's wife to kill him. It succeded, and though he returned to life, he wants this artifact destoryed. Anyone bearing it will become a target for the Dementist and all of his minions.
Notes: I'd like if one of the characters who is opposed to Xeal could find this weapon. If you want to, contact me, as long as the admins don't think it is too strong.
