The fair covers several acres. There are all sorts of attractions here - primitive roundabpouts with squealing children, slides of various fantastic designs, and brightly lit signs.
Places where you can try your skill at shooting (with specially blunted arrows) or throwing games, for prizes.
Placex to watch itinerant entertainers - here a troupe of baggy-trousered clowns, there a sword-swallower and just over there a juggler.
Men, broad-shouldered and hugely muscled, offered cash prizes if anyone would step into a sand circle and fight them hand to hand and last some period of time - usually three minutes.
Sellers of trinkets, sellers of sweets.
All these and much more can be seen at the fair.

Here we are lady Ameena. This is it.
You can just stand and watch the showmen; they come round with hats for you to put money in if you liked their performance.
Oh great, theres The Man with the Cast Iron Stomach! I like him!
The showman the boy had pointed to was in the middle of a ring of spectators, slowly sliding a longsword into his open mouth. It goes all the way to the hilt.

'Interesting, oui.'
She watches the showman, both wincing and giggling. Quite a feat, that. She looks at the boy.
'Silly, I know, but you have an advantage knowing my name, mon ami. Might I know yours?'
She smiles.

I'm Sadron Eng'winden.
Oh wow Ameena, look at that! We've got to see that!
*He pointed to where a befurred man was doing stuntriding tricks with a pair of fine-looking horses. He started heading in that direction.*

'Merci, mon ami Sadron. Alright.'
They head off to the man riding the horses. He's good, the horses under good control, and looking very magnificent.

*At the conclusion of the act the boy pulls out a silver coin and tosses it int the hat nearby, then cheers and claps enthusiastically. Several other watcher do the same thing.*

She grins and applauds, having no money to spare.
'Très bien, très bien.'

She looks and points.
'Do you like jugglers, mon ami Sadron?'
There's a couple of jugglers standing in a sandy pit, the crowd being kept at a a safe distance. The reason for the sand soon becomes apparent, as they start using lighted clubs, tossing them to the other.

*Sadron just nods, and goes fascinated to watch the performance.*

Some more mundane items get added, like balls and throwing axes.
Ameena walks over with Sadron, keeping an eye on both the boy and the jugglers.

*Sadron watches, enthralled.*
*The jugglers are quite skilled, passing the balls, torches and other items from hand to hand and person to person in a ceaseless flow.*

Ameena watches, vaguely jealous. Her tail sweeps.
The torches get thrown up, landing neatly in the sand where they go out, signalling the end of the act. A child goes around with the cap for those wanting to donate.

What do you want to see now, Miss Ameena?

From Lady to just Ameena to Miss...She laughs.
'Let's sit down for a moment, mon ami, and watch the people.'
She motions to a nearby wooden bench.
