I'm setting this thread up because I happen to be a curious little girl. The idea is that you ask a question and people answer it, then post up a new question. Not terribly hard, is it? You may answer any question in the thread, it doesn't have to be the preceeding one. And if you can't think of an answer to any question, you can just post up a question. Other way around, you want to post an answer but not a question, is good too. We're flexible. You can ask OR-type questions or open questions. Answering your own questions is not as much fun, but if you really want to, go right ahead. You can post up any type (personal or philosophical or whatever, as long as you keep it decent ). Answers may be everything from single words to rants. I'll start you off: what would be your ideal job?

The Coldfire Trilogy. Lovely books, all in all. It has some extremely unique ideas.
What is your opinion of the Human race?

The Human race? *nearly chokes coughing*
I think the human race is in general one of the most pathetic, hateful species this place has managed to produce. Not to mention anti-social, self-centered, and stupid. I'm sure there are some exceptions. But those are exceptions. Overall, the human race is one mass of unimaginative herd animals. And everything that is different, especially that is better, they try to destroy for no other reason than that they can't stand anything diverging from the norm.
Let me give you an example- I have this lovely piece of clothing. A multi-coloured woollen poncho. I love the thing, it's comfortable and warm. But it's not the norm. So when I wore it to school, I got the weirdest looks and some very bad remarks... Many by people I didn't even know! What in the Nine was it to them?? Now recently, my younger brother decided it was a good time to wear shorts, because it's so very warm. All his class-mates were still in long trousers, so what did they do? They made fun of him for two weeks before he actually gave in and wore long trousers again on a bloody warm day!! Now I never gave in, and I am very sorry that he did. Those brats.
Now I can forgive humans their stupidity, up to a point. Even their idiotic ideas about keeping to the norm. But I hate them for trying to bind me down, for being so terribly false and mean and greedy and hypocritical and ... Gah. I would be anything rather than human. Generally speaking, they disgust me. So I'm sticking to 'loth for now. In comparison, 'loths are patient, sociable, generous, tolerant, and overall very friendly.

How did you come to start RPing?

I guess I'll answer that one, since none of the other cutters are. I first started with the Dark Sun campaign setting when I was a kid. Styxed the age. Anyways, I was drawn to it after reading a book. Found out more after that and got a computer game called Wake of the Ravager, then I got drawn into D&D for a short while. I moved and ended up going without it for a long time [ ], up until I got set up with another group. Problem was, the DM of that group was a ringwalker, and an ass of one at that. Eventually, I found more RPing at one o the schools I went to. From there, I just kind of got more and more into the game. What do ya think o ya family?

*Nods in complete agreement at Catriona's rant* I know I am not supposed to say this, but don't forget that they are also a bunch of stereotyping, ignorant fools, even though that somewhat fits into your rant. I started RPing back in Terisia, when I followed a link to an airship adventure. It looked very childish and embarassing back then, so I avoided it. However, what got me so interested was the cool RP there - it seemed embarrasing, but a whole lot of fun. Coincidently, this same group that I would later start roleplaying with hooked me in. Considering I was keen to avoid them at first (yes, Xealaz, even you ) I dunno where that went off to. I was even scared that my family would find me weird. Anyway, one fathful night, I just said: to heck with it. I am gonna do it. So I quickly created Elfhame, because I liked sorcerers and elves, and made the scrollrack. The first night caused me to stay up till 1 - first time I did that - but I was completely hooked, even though not much happened. I proceeded to start RPing with the group I intended to avoid - which was thanks to Xealaz (or shanel, for those who don't know) I really don't know what I think about my family, but it's probably childish. Yes, that's it, my family is very childish. Arguments where one part of the family doesn't talk to the other spring up because of the silliest things ever, and when they have a chance to make up, pride gets in the way. Discussions can't be held without people interrupting others. Things get out of hand because of ignorance. Of course I love my parents, but even they are that way. Then they dare to call themselves *adult* - bwah, don't make me laugh An 8-year old child is much more of an adult than them.
What is the worst, most disrespectful job on earth, and why?

*Goes to answer every question, because that's what I do* what would be your ideal job? Being an author. I love writing, creating, and expressing my ideas, and an author pays me to do it. My favoirte work? God, there are so many! I have to say that my all time favorite is the wheel of time series, by Robert Jordan. It is so original and well thought out, and every character is completely believable. The Human Race? *shudders.* They are a bunch of grinning, conforming, mindless boobs who would happily jump off a cliff if they believed it was the In thing. A select few go against this convention, but they are ridiculed, slandered, and degraded, untill the babbling masses realize they are, in fact, right, in which case everyone follows them, trumpeting how they always believe in those few, who are not humans - we will call us Individuals. Humans, on the other hand, are short sighted and dim - witted, unable to see beyond the tips of their noses, if they are capable of seeing that far. What's worse, they believe everyone must have the EXACT SAME OPINION. If you don't have the EXACT SAME OPINION, you are not NORMAL. Those who are not NORMAL are to be feared and hated for not showing the EXACT SAME OPINION. The average human is like a horse - it will follow the herd. When they catch the scent of a wolf - read Individual - they panic and stampede, hoping to trample down the wicked unique thoughts. Individuals are forced to either a - hide or live on the fringes of society or b - take controll of the masses with pretty words and catchy slogans like "Bush and Cheney in 04" (that took some thought) or "Drop Bush, not Bombs" (not much better.) The masses, seeing something clever but not original, or not even clever, flock to those people and hand control over to them. Start RPing? Well, I started because I needed a way to express my creativity. I stumbled across TC long, long ago and decided to play there. I was addicted, though part of me knew that real RP would be better. Within 24 hours, I had half the city down my back, and I made my in. In under three weeks, the most controversial issue to date had occured there. In two months, we had started wars. In 5 months, I had been nearly banned several times. 8 months later, we burned the place down and made our own. However, it began to die, and I have since hopped from board to board, till I finally landed here. My Family? Depends on which member: Mom: Arrogant, perfectionist nazi who also happens to believe fantasy is evil, and her son should conform to everything society says. We dont' get along to well. Dad: My moms mouthpiece. She says jump, he says how high. Sister: We get along great, mostly because we need to band together against my parents. Dog: I love my dog. Worst job on earth? I don't know what it's called, but whoever turns humans into statistics for news programs. Much as I dislike the majority of the human race, I find them infinatly perferable to numbers. Most of the time, at least. ---------------------------------------- How did you create your character?

Started as a char with no description. I tacked on vampirism later. After that, I made the description pretty much how you can see it now. Blindness and some other things occured a while after.

How did I create my character? I based Cat off of one of the characters in a story of mine. This character is a race that is not in the conventional fantasy world as such (I customised it ) but the closest approximation is Elf. I changed many of the features and the entire history, but if I ever finish the silly story (yeah yeah Elfhame, I'm working on it. Or will be. Somtime. ) and IF I get it published (note the capitals) so you may read it, then you will probably find the similarities not too hard to find. The other characters just sort of happened. Except for Tirith of course (well, okay, he happened another way. Don't even go there thanks), whom I simply base off of the characteristics of his parents. What do I think of my family? I love and respect my parents and brothers, and my grandmother (the other three grandparents have been dead a long time now). We have our problems like any family has, but if anyone wants to get to them they'll have to go through me first. The worst job on earth? Selling yourself. I pity those who are forced into such a life. I would rather beg than do a thing like that, and that's probably saying quite a bit because I know I am a proud woman. ________________________ Okay, this is a number of questions together, but I needed them all to give you a notion of the idea I'm looking for, if you know what I mean: What is the highest in life: Truth, Love, Faith, Wisdom, Art, Fun, Beauty, Life Itself, something else, (or is there no such a thing as the most important?), and why? Is this a concept or something concrete? Is this absolutely worth everything and anything else?

Is this a concept or something concrete? Is this absolutely worth everything and anything else? I find it amusing no one has tried to answer this. I myself have been too lazy. There is no overiding concept to life, except to live it. Life is to live. You can't section it off. You just live it all, take it all in, experience it all. That's my take on it, anyways.

Second, you did in a few sentences what was going to take me about five paragraphs to say: Life is for living. So many people go though life, and they never realize it. I'm often reminded of the Sixth Sense. "I see dead people. Everywhere. They walk among us, and some of them don't even know they are dead." Sadly, this is a true statment, and it is the source of much of my vexation with the human race. In other words: Sat is right.

Ok, I got a question: It isn't too interesting, but I want to know, so it qualifies for the curiosity thread.
Would you want to be your character, and why?
I will answer my own question later, I need to go sleep.

I will answer my own question later, I need to go sleep. No. I would hate to be my characters. I'm hard on my characters, and give them Hellish lives in their history. I much prefer the life I have to one like, say, Jingzu's. I'm more than happy to do without the amount of absolute hate that he possesses.
