* He sighs, picks up the book and stashes it. They leave, settle the tab, and Merestil turns. * Want to make your own way back?
* Gendorial hesitates, and shakes his head. They leave the Inn by a back route, and teleport to the Gate as soon as they are out of the Forbiddance.
At the gate, they use the key and step straight through.

* Merestil sighs as he enters. Always useful, this place. Firmly neutral.
Vinnie was behind the bar, and welcomed him politely. Just another businessman...
Having ordered and paid for his drink he went and sat down in the bar, waiting.
It was 45 minutes before Vinnie brought him a drink, and the invitation to the upstairs room. He took the drink and went upstairs. *

* There are three men in the room; Ge'hariel is flanked by Sariel on his left and a wizard in robes of dark blue on his right.
Against one wall is the cabinet that Ge'hariel wished to trade. *
Good day again Master Haye. It has been some time. You are well I trust?
I am sure you recognise my associates, Sariel and Elvor.
It has. I am well. Yes, I recognise them both, thank you.
* Merestil places the belts on the table between them, extracting them from the bag in which they had been resting. *
Here are the belts, as agreed. They reduce the subject's weight - and that of his gear - by one half. The effect lasts only ten minutes.
* Ge'hariel bowed. *
Thank you. There is the cabinet.
* Merestil and Elvor step forward and each examine the other's items. Elvor finds it necessary to cast a spell. Merestil does not. *

* After a few minutes both men straighten and nod. Elvor turns to Ge'hariel.
He whispers. * Those items do what he promised, Master.
* Ge'hariel seems amused. * Did you think they would not? It would cost far more for him to lie than any paltry gain he might make.
Then I agree, Master Haye. The Cabinet is yours.
Thank you, Ge'hariel. And yes, I am satisfied about the cabinet.
Shall we drink to the deal?
* Ge'hariel nods and sends Sariel to fetch a bottle of drink. He returns with a small bottle and two glasses. At Ge'hariel's sign he pours two glasses.
* The two toast the deal thus completed. With that, Ge'hariel gestures and picks up the belts. The three leave Merestil alone.
Merestil shifts his appearance again, becoming a plain workman. Lifting the cabinet he carries it out of the room, down the stairs and out.
As soon as he reached the outside air, he teleported to the portal back to Eluria - the more dignified one, as the cabinet would not fit through the trashcan. *
