Don't worry.
Aman walks off, keeping Satorius in his line of sight.

*Satorius chuckles as he listens to both words and thoughts behind him, smiling as he walks on, heading deeper into the forest. At one point, he stops and stands still. He doesn't gesture or chant, but he is casting a spell.*

Weird man. What is he doing, just standing around. He'd be lucky if a patrol didn't shoot him down. Aman walks a bit closer, still behind Satorius' back, stopping about 20 feet away. Nah, not here in the open like this. He walks behind the closes tree, watching the man standing still like that. Weird man...

*He gets the answer he desired. It was a mere location spell, really. He will find out more later. He could, of course, cheat and use a different spell, but he wanted to see the situation of at least one of the places before using that. He turned to head towards one of the major cities of the Human settlements before smiling again and stopping.*
Do you wish to speak with me, or would you rather continue to hide?

He blinks, and steps out from behind the tree. How did you...? Never mind, master Iaral'd have a fit if he found out.He looks Satorius up and down, mostly up. Observing Satorius is a boy in his late 120's, 4'9", with unruly brown hair, and deepgreen eyes. He's dressed in simple clothes, shirt, trousers, leather boots, all in subdued colours to make him blend more into the forest. There's a short sword hanging on his hip, the scabbard unadorned. He looks intelligent, curious, and about as stubborn as you can be when growing up in a city under siege What are you doing?

*He examines the boy for a moment before smiling again. He seemed nice enough, particularly for someone from that unforgiving place.*
I'm ending a war.

Aman raises an eyebrow.
Huh. Mister, how? They've been fighting forever.
And why? You're not from the city, so why do it?

*He smiles again*
I have a few methods, but it does not really involve fighting.
Well, I would like to say out of the kindness of my heart and for the good of all, but, alas, it is a more selfish reason. I am just trying to clear someone's name and I do not think anyone will listen until this war is over.

No fighting?
The boy sniffs in contempt.
Like they'll listen to you then.
Whose name?
Weird man, but it's something happening that doesn't involve half of the city taking up arms.

They will, one way or another.
*He takes a guess at the boy's age and thinks for a moment. Yes, he would remember it. Well, hopefully he won't chase off another person.*
Catriona.

You're weird, mister.
He thinks. Catriona? The name sounds familiar, but it takes him a moment to remember why.
Lady Ellisande's daughter? She's dead, like the rest of the Trevains.
Aman seems a jumble of emotions at this. He's still curious as to why the man'd want to clear an exile, which to him is the same as a dead Elf. Fear as he recalls the Drow-invasion. The burning houses and the screaming people...He drops his hand on his sword, not aware of doing it. Sadness and anger as a face comes back to him, of a male Elf with the same unruly brown hair, and a generous smile. The same Elf, laying in the street, having fallen in the defense of his family. Aman blinks and looks back at Satorius.
...
He swallows and tries again.
Why?

In a sense, I suppose. Yet, not dead in truth. Something I wish to show, and something that they will learn.
*He smiles*
Because I love her. The two of us are married, and I would do just about anything for her.
I know this may be a little hard to understand... especially after things that have happened in the past. She is not an evil person, though.

Lady Ellisande declared her to be dead. Mister, no wonder they threw you out.
'She's not evil'...Tell that to the graveyard.

Actually, they wanted to keep me around to ask a few more questions. I left of my own accord.
*He chuckles*
There have been many acts that lead others to the grave that can never be classified as evil. It is all intent, and she did not intend for people to die. Unfortunately, that is what happened.
*He turns and starts walking towards the city in the spell showed him*
Before you judge, you must know all sides. What was once a Fiend could turn out to be a Celestial, and vice versa. Through it all, there is usually a reason, one that others are not willing to see.
You can try to find this out for yourself, or simply believe what all others have said, if you wish. I hope it is the former and not the latter. So far as I have seen, your eyes have been more open than most of the others in that town.

Bit difficult to see all sides, with most being dead.
So? They still died.
He watches Satorius walk off. Trying to clear a gwarth...even if the man succeeds, Aman doubts Catriona'd be welcome back. And stopping the war...Weird man. Still, he's never been to either human city, and it looks like Satorius is heading to one of them. Aman follows, taking some big strides to catch up.
Did you know this before you married her? My mother says she was a really good liar.
