'Merci, monsieur. I'd like another one, oui.'
Ameena smiles at Thranor, her tail sweeping slightly before settling down.

*Thranor gets up and pours whiskies for himself and Ameena, handing her one of the glasses.*
There you are.
*His gazew flickers in the direction of her tail, briefly, but he smiles as he sits down, murmuring to himself.*
Most unusual.

She blushes a bit. Not a remark she got often about the other part of her heritage. She takes a big drink of her whiskey, hoping to hide it.

*Thranor sips his whisky, running over in his mind any stories about tieflings who were called to be a paladin. None came to mind.*

She slowly drinks the rest, idly thinking about nothing in peculiar. Her free hand touches her symbol, but she doesn't seem aware of doing so.

*Thranor continues to sip his whisky while he thinks.*
Do you mind if I ask you a personal question?

She looks up from her empty glass.
'Non, I don't, monsieur. What's the question?'

You are one of those that we sages call "planetouched" - that is, one of your ancestors was an inhabitant of the outer planes. Unless the ancestor was from the Good planes it is unusual to see them in service to a good God. Let allone called to be a paladin.
I was wondering how that happened.
If you do not wish to answer I will understand.

She sits back and puts her glass away.
'Marnak. He was a priest of Kord, in the party I travelled with. We spent a lot of time talking about religion, and Kord in special.'
.o0('And doing other things.')
She winces some at the thought.

I see. This Marmak sounds a fascinating fellow. You are - well you may not be the only person in your situation but it is very rare. I hope you do not suffer from ignorance and prejudice too much my dear.

'He was a very interesting man, oui.
No more than other Tieflings. Some places are worse than others, but I stopped taking it to heart, for the most part.'

It is true that some places are worse than others. I suppose we are fairly olerant here. The biggest problem tends to be nincomers - people who are not used to seeing outsiders walk the streets in peace.
You are welcome here any time.

Her clothes are quite dry by now, and the talk about her past has made her uneasy, though she hides the last. Frell, she needs a drink.
'Merci monsieur. I had best be going now, I'm sure you've other things to do.'
She stands.

Yes of course. Thank you again for keeping Sadron out of trouble today.
*He stands and guides her to the door.*

'Mais naturellement, monsieur. It was my pleasure. Au revoir.'
It's not raining at the moment, but the sky still looks threatening. She waves bye, and hurries towards the city-centre.
